The Second China Design Exhibition and Public Art Special Exhibition (formerly known as the Second China Design Exhibition) is currently being held in various activity venues in Shenzhen, and we look forward to meeting the audience on January 9th. Three years ago, the first China Design Exhibition was themed "Era · Creation", highlighting the close connection between contemporary Chinese design and social change and development in China, and showcasing the fruitful achievements of contemporary Chinese design. The Second China Design Exhibition and Public Art Special Exhibition, with the theme of "Design · Responsibility", proposed the social and cultural responsibilities that design and public art should have in the context of China's socio-economic transition into a new normal.

The time flies by swiftly, like a white horse dashing through a narrow gap.In those eyes of intense concentration, within the graceful poise of licking brushes and blending ink, embedded in the profound and heartfelt craftsmanship of carving, and in the meticulous weaving of words and phrases, Shenzhen Art Museum has embarked on and traversed a remarkable 30-year journey.Throughout these three decades, Shenzhen Art Museum has conscientiously embraced the special mission of advancing the development of Chinese fine arts and fostering the cultural construction of emerging cities. It has strived to grasp the pulse of contemporary Chinese fine arts, clarified its professional development direction and academic positioning, proposed the topic of contemporary Chinese painting innovation, continuously conducted theoretical research and creative practice activities, adhered to the academic principle of openness, diversity, and inclusiveness, and established the "Shenzhen International Ink Painting Biennale," an internationally influential exhibition and exchange platform for contemporary ink painting, as well as the "Shenzhen Ink Painting Forum," a platform for in-depth exploration of the history and current status of ink painting in fine arts theory.

The works of the young artists selected this year encompass various art forms such as oil painting, traditional Chinese painting, watercolor, printmaking, and more, showcasing the artistic concepts and spiritual worlds of Shenzhen's young painters from diverse perspectives. These works embody both the traditional heritage and the exploration of contemporary artistic spirit expression, featuring novel themes, diverse forms, unique styles, and distinct personalities. They collectively represent and embody the creative state and demeanor of Shenzhen's young art creation team, reflecting the creative consciousness of these artists in terms of their diverse expressions, heritage, and innovation, as well as demonstrating distinct characteristics of the times. 

This year marks the 13th edition of the "Sino-South Korea Ink Art Exchange Exhibition." Over the years, the Guan Shanyue Art Museum in Shenzhen, China, and the Yi Zhai Art Museum in Gwangju, South Korea, have jointly built a bridge for cultural and artistic exchanges, fostering the promotion of traditional Oriental art and culture while enhancing friendly relations and cultural interactions between the two countries. Those who follow this event have enjoyed immersing themselves in the exquisite atmosphere created by Oriental ink paintings. Indeed, compared to pure linguistic exchanges, the spiritual dimension of cultural and artistic communication seems to resonate more deeply with people.

As one of the key events of Shenzhen's Creativity December, the "Masuteru Aoba Poster Design Memorial Exhibition," organized by Creativity December and the Promotion Office of the City of Design, and undertaken by Guan Shanyue Art Museum and Shenzhen Illustration Association with the collaboration of Japan Graphic Designers Association, is held at Guan Shanyue Art Museum in Shenzhen. 

The works of the young artists selected this year encompass various art forms such as oil painting, traditional Chinese painting, watercolor, and printmaking, showcasing the artistic concepts and spiritual worlds of Shenzhen's young painters from diverse angles. These works embody both the inheritance of tradition and the exploration of contemporary artistic expressions, characterized by novel themes, diverse forms, varied styles, and distinctive personalities. They collectively represent and embody the creative state and vibrant appearance of Shenzhen's young art creation team. Additionally, they reflect the creative consciousness of Shenzhen's young painters, who strive for diversity, inheritance, and innovation, embodying distinct characteristics of our time. 

 The "Traveler in the Wilderness - Feng Yu Space Art Exhibition" is the first large-scale individual exhibition of Chinese interior designers held by the Guan Shanyue Art Museum, with the establishment of contemporary Chinese design as its academic positioning. Perhaps this will be a heated debate on the Chinese design concepts, paths, and other aspects in the research of contemporary Chinese spatial design art. It may also be an exploration of different dimensions and depths in the positioning, cognitive thinking, and reflection of contemporary Chinese spatial design.

Supported by the Special Fund for the Development of Propaganda and Culture in Shenzhen, the "On the Road · 2016: China Youth Artist Works Nomination Exhibition and Youth Critics Forum" jointly organized by the Shenzhen Guan Shanyue Art Museum and the Curatorial Committee of the China Artists Association will be held from November 19 to December 5, 2016 at the Guan Shanyue Art Museum. This nomination exhibition and forum will focus on sculpture (spatial art) as a research and exhibition object.
