In order to promote the construction of academic culture in Shenzhen, improve the humanities， social sciences, literary and artistic qualities of Shenzhen citizens, and meet the needs of citizens and experts and scholars for communication and exchange, starting from March 2005, four units including Guan Shanyue Art Museum, Shenzhen Sculpture Institute, Shenzhen Business Daily Cultural Square, and Shenzhen TV jointly launched a public welfare activity - the "Sifang Salon（Salon in Four Directions）" series of academic lectures to the society.

The meaning of the name "Sifang Salon"::
1. The organizer consists of four units;
2. "Sifang" represents a state of knowledge, representing experts from various fields, sharing knowledge and ideas from all aspects without any threshold or category restrictions.
3. The representatives of the "Sifang（Four Directions）" participating in the salon come from all over the world, Meeting friends through academic means, extensive exchanges, and mutual communication.

Time of the "Sifang Salon" Activity：
From 3pm to 5pm on the last Saturday of each month (any temporary changes will be notified separately in newspapers and other media)

Activity purpose:：
    Express expert opinions in the language of civilians
    To convey academic ideas in a vivid and intuitive manner
    Create a space for dialogue in a salon style
    To shape the brand of Shenzhen through public participation
