On August 19, 2020, the "Grand Beauty Embracing China - Bokui Chinese Freehand Flower and Bird Painting Exhibition"" will open at the Guan Shanyue Art Museum in Shenzhen. This exhibition will showcase nearly a hundred carefully prepared and created large-scale freehand flower and bird paintings by Mr. Bokui, and once again meet the audience.

The "When sleeping in spring, dreams wake up first——Exhibition of Gao Jianfu's Works", organized by the Guangzhou Art Museum and the Shenzhen Guan Shanyue Art Museum, and co organized by the Gao Jianfu Memorial Museum, opened on the afternoon of August 5, 2020 at the Guan Shanyue Art Museum in Shenzhen. A total of 103 Gao Jianfu's calligraphy and painting works were exhibited in this exhibition, all of which are collections of the Guangzhou Art Museum and will last until August 16.

 Our museum has been dedicated to the collection and research of various fields such as Guan Shanyue art research, 20th century Chinese art, contemporary design art, and contemporary Chinese art. We have accumulated a number of precious art works and research results, accumulated cultural wealth for the country, and provided rich artistic resources for Shenzhen citizens to enjoy cultural rights. In 2019, in accordance with the requirements of the art collection system, our museum collected a total of 684 works, including 3 sets of works by Guan Shanyue, 12 sets of works by Zhao Shaoang, 4 sets of works by Lin Fengsu, 141 sets of works by Zhuang Xilong, and 392 sets of works by Huang Xishun.

Lin Fengsu (1939-2017) was an outstanding Chinese painter and art educator. This exhibition attempts to present the overall appearance of Lin Feng's popular Chinese painting through four sections: "Creating a Clear and Huai Environment", "Poetic Home", "Wonderful Heart Source", and "Leading the Way to Interest", by combining his works on different themes with relevant sketches, sketches, video narratives, and real-life scenes. By sorting out the painter's works on different themes, especially the process of continuously refining the same theme, the transformation from creation to the source of the heart is reproduced, gradually sublimating from the truth in the eyes, the truth in the heart, to the truth in the painting. This constitutes Lin Fengsu's continuous pursuit of the true meaning of creation, and it is also the starting point for us to explore the artistic world of Lin Fengsu.

As a senior artist active in the Jiangsu region, Mr. Shang Lianbi's artistic career has continued from the founding of the People's Republic of China to the beginning of this century. Exploring and studying his art and life is beneficial for Shenzhen citizens to further understand the unique value and significance of Chinese art in the mid to late 20th century. This art exhibition showcases over 80 landscape and freehand flower and bird works by the author throughout his life.

On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Guan Shan Yue Art Museum and the 100th anniversary of Guan Shan Yue's birth, the museum has carefully prepared a series of exhibitions of Chinese 20th century art masters, showcasing the emotions and character of art masters to the citizens of Shenzhen. Here, the Guan Shan Yue Art Museum and the Shanghai Art Museum have selected over a hundred works by Hua Junwu to review and share with the audience the wonderful artistic life presented by Hua Junwu in the form of comics.

In the history of modern and contemporary art in our country, Fu Baoshi and Guan Shanyue are undoubtedly two giants in the art world. Their masterpiece "Jiangshan So Many Beauties" created for the Great Hall of the People in 1959 is a well-known masterpiece and a groundbreaking work in art history. In 1961, they went to Northeast China to sketch together. In two intimate collaborations and interactions, they established a deep friendship and left behind beautiful stories.

Since the 20th century, in the context of social change in China, Chinese painting art, as a traditional cultural form, has also faced tremendous pressure of change. As a student and close friend of Xu Beihong, Mr. Wu Zuoren followed and supported Xu's artistic proposition of transforming Chinese painting, and was committed to introducing Western classical realism methods as a "good remedy" for the transformation of Chinese painting. Therefore, sketch training, as the foundation of realistic painting, became the starting point for the transformation of New Chinese painting.

The "Overseas Journey - Overseas Sketching Exhibition of Chinese Painters in the 1950s and 1970s" is hosted by the Guanshan Yue Art Museum in Shenzhen, and co organized by multiple units such as the China National Art Museum, Nanjing Museum, Lingnan School of Painting Memorial Museum, Lai Shaoqi Art Museum, Yaming Art Museum, and Li Keran Foundation. A total of more than 110 works of famous 20th century artists, including Fu Baoshi, Li Keran, Zhao Wangyun, Li Xiongcai, Guan Shanyue, Lai Shaoqi, Zhang Ding, Liu Mengtian, Shi Lu, Yaming, are exhibited. This activity aims to summarize and showcase the academic nature of Chinese artists' foreign sketches from the 1950s to 1970s in the mid to late 20th century, in order to attract further attention and research from the academic community on the phenomenon of art history in this specific period.

Li Qingping was a new woman with a bumpy and unique background in the 20th century, and also an artist forgotten by Chinese art history. Her original surname was Zhao and her name was Yuzhen. After attending school, she changed her name to Li Yuan, while Qingping was the name changed by Xu Beihong when she went to Nanyang to publish an art collection. The transformation from a newly educated girl named Jiayuan to a wandering and floating artist named Guping almost describes her lifelong fate.
