Hua Junwu is an outstanding representative figure in the field of comic art in China, creating thousands of excellent comic works. His comic works closely follow the pulse of the times, with humorous and witty ideas, rich in combat and philosophy. The humorous style and language of Hua Junwu's comics initially borrowed some foreign expression methods, but with the accumulation of life experience and artistic practice, his art gradually developed towards popularization and nationalization, forming a strong Chinese style and atmosphere. Hua Junwu's works have played a positive role in pointing out current problems, punishing evil and promoting good, both during revolutionary wars and peaceful construction periods.

As a revolutionary artist who emerged from Yan'an, Hua Junwu served as an important leader in the art industry at the beginning of the establishment of New China, making outstanding contributions to the art cause of New China. Especially in the new era after the end of the Cultural Revolution, it played an important role in breaking down ideological barriers and creating a prosperous situation in the art world where "a hundred flowers bloom and a hundred schools of thought contend".

 On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Guan Shan Yue Art Museum and the 100th anniversary of Guan Shan Yue's birth, the museum has carefully prepared a series of exhibitions of Chinese 20th century art masters, showcasing the emotions and character of art masters to the citizens of Shenzhen. Here, the Guan Shan Yue Art Museum and the Shanghai Art Museum have selected over a hundred works by Hua Junwu to review and share with the audience the wonderful artistic life presented by Hua Junwu in the form of comics.
