Modern art is mainly characterized by deformation and abstraction, which can now be appreciated by ordinary audiences. However, contemporary art has too many and complex patterns, and it no longer expresses beauty, which creates obstacles for many people to appreciate. This situation involves a profound shift in aesthetic values in Western art. This lecture will strive to explain clearly how the aesthetic value of Western art has transformed and what kind of aesthetics it has re established. By understanding this fundamental issue, it is possible to comprehend and appreciate contemporary art.
