The lecture will use group cases to sort out the symbiotic practices of modern design in China from a global perspective. In the concept and practice of modern design in China, "Symbiosis" has surpassed the biological definition of "mutually beneficial coexistence of different species" and evolved into a systematic thinking paradigm that is interdisciplinary, cross-cultural, and cross interest oriented; The main idea is to construct a dynamic balance relationship between different subjects or dimensions in differences and collaborations, presenting complex practical philosophical characteristics.
The lecture will discuss the multidimensional symbiotic relationship between tradition and modernity, East and West, national identity and universality, global perspective and locality in the context of modern transformation, social change, globalization, locality, cultural inheritance, and technological innovation, through design practice and typical cases, and explain the "symbiotic" characteristics of modern Chinese design.
