  • After a century of historical transformation and social construction, and through the rational thinking and innovative research of several generations of artists, Chinese oil painting has become more open in its artistic trajectory to pay attention to the main trend of world civilization development, and has also become more conscious in grasping the development theme of contemporary Chinese society. Chinese oil painting has increasingly become a visual carrier for consciously expressing Chinese cultural themes and expressing Chinese ideological concepts, and has become a language for Chinese painters to express themselves in the face of the contemporary world situation and deepen their cultural sentiments. As a result, Chinese freehand oil painting has gained widespread social acceptance in its dissemination channels and has the support of China's own cultural environment.

    The essential support and inner academic ideal of "freehand oil painting" is the "spirit of freehand brushwork", which is also the fundamental driving force for many painters to continuously invest enthusiasm in exploration. As an important characteristic of Chinese art tradition, "freehand brushwork" has a broad and profound connotation, including the integration of human and nature, self and the world, and also showcases language features with Eastern cultural attributes. This has formed the rich individual achievements and overall magnificent atmosphere of the school of "freehand oil painting".

     In recent years, with the strong support of the Shenzhen Special Fund for the Development of Propaganda and Culture, the Shenzhen Guan Shanyue Art Museum has continued to hold the "Cultural Heritage - Chinese Freehand Oil Painting School Annual Exhibition" and has toured various places, gaining widespread recognition from all sectors of society and attention and support from the government at the national level. What is even more gratifying is that oil painters actively respond and conscientiously create their own artistic masterpieces, which have gathered into a considerable landscape of "freehand oil painting", with a sense of public service and the convergence of various rivers. These works are intertwined with a full passion for artistic exploration and rich language forms to create a vibrant cultural vitality of the times, allowing people to anticipate the prospect of continuous improvement in Chinese oil painting.
