  • Lin Fengsu

    Lin Fengsu was an outstanding contemporary Chinese painter and art educator. Born in Chao'an County, Guangdong Province in 1939, he entered the Chinese Painting Department of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1959, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned Lingnan School painters such as Guan Shanyue and Li Xiongcai. Upon graduation in 1964, he took up a position at the Cultural Center of Huaiji County. In 1975, he was transferred to the Mass Art Museum of Zhaoqing Prefecture, where he served as the Vice Chairman of the Zhaoqing Federation of Literary and Art Circles and Deputy Director of the Mass Art Museum. In 1981, he joined the Chinese Painting Department of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, dedicating himself to the teaching, research, and creation of Chinese landscape painting. Throughout his career, he held various positions including Professor, Master's Supervisor, and Director of the Landscape Painting Teaching and Research Section at the Chinese Painting Department of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. He was also a member of the China Artists Association, Executive Director of Guangdong Artists Association and member of its Chinese Painting Art Committee, member of Guangdong Federation of Literary and Art Circles, a specially appointed painter at Guangdong Painting Academy, and a researcher at Guangdong Institute of Culture and History. Lin Fengsu passed away in Guangzhou in May 2017 at the age of 78. His works have been selected for numerous national and international art exhibitions and published in various professional journals. He has published several collections of his works, including "The Collected Works of Lin Fengsu" and "The lingering charm of Time - Lin Fengsu's Landscape and Flower-and-Bird Paintings."
