It is reported that over a thousand award-winning works from the 2018 Shenzhen Children's Painting Competition will be exhibited at the Guan Shanyue Art Museum in Shenzhen until January 6, 2019.
The award-winning works are not just "one in a hundred"
Since its launch on May 4th this year, the 2018 Shenzhen Children's Painting Competition has been soliciting works from children aged 3-12 and has received widespread support from all sectors of society. As of August 31st, the preschool, children's, and youth groups have received a total of 15915 entries from 25 provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions, and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, as well as some from Australia and Canada.
These works have undergone two rounds of online and offline selection, with a total of 2100 shortlisted works selected by expert judges from China and the United States. Among them, 1066 works stood out and won the Jury Award, as well as the Special Award, Gold Award, Silver Award, and Bronze Award for the Preschool, Children's, and Youth Groups. In proportion, these works are not just "one in a hundred".
Create the most recognized children's painting competition
In order to fully demonstrate the professionalism of the competition organization, the organizing committee of the competition has introduced international mature competition evaluation rules and procedures, and has hired authoritative experts in the field of children's art education from China and the United States to form a professional judging panel, encouraging children to "see the world from a height of one meter" and showcase their artistic talents.
The theme of this competition is "friendly", but the organizing committee has adopted a more open form and attitude towards the theme and expression of the works, encouraging diversified creation around the theme, and not limiting the types of paintings and materials created. The staff explained that starting from the registration of the event, no fees will be charged to the parents of the children in any form during the competition, and efforts will be made to build an open, fair, and authoritative children's painting competition platform for the children and parents.
Adding color to the creation of a "child friendly city"
Shenzhen is the first in the country to propose the creation of a "child friendly city", and the "friendly" theme of this competition is also derived from it. During this year's June 1st holiday, the organizing committee of the competition, with the support of the Shenzhen Women's Federation, organized a public welfare themed activity for children to paint the subway. The child friendly city special train on Line 1 of the subway became a joyful event that citizens eagerly shared and received praise from all sectors of society.
During this period, the paintings of six children were fortunate enough to become the creative materials for Shenzhen's first set of children's subway cards, which also became a small business card for the creation of a child friendly city in Shenzhen.
