  • foreword

Continuing to promote cultural prosperity, build a strong cultural nation, and construct modern

civilization of the Chinese nation at a new starting point is our new cultural mission in the new era.

"General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the Symposium on Cultural Inheritance and

Development comprehensively and systematically expounded a series of major theoretical and

practical issues related to the inheritance and development of Chinese culture, providing us with

ideological and action guidelines for shouldering new cultural missions and striving to build modern

     civilization of the Chinese nation.

As an important practice in the field of oil painting that actively responds to the call of the times,

the "Cultural Heritage Inheritance - Exhibition of Works of the Chinese Freehand Oil Painting School"

has been successfully held for nine consecutive sessions since its debut in 2015, becoming an

important academic brand in the field of Chinese freehand oil painting. With the support of the

Shenzhen Municipal Special Fund for the Development of Propaganda and Culture, this exhibition is

hosted by Fan Di'an, Chairman of the China Artists Association, and jointly organized by the Shenzhen

Guanshanyue Art Museum and the Beijing Contemporary Chinese Freehand Oil Painting Research

Institute. Its aim is to provide an academic review and annual summary of the practical achievements

of Chinese freehand oil painting creation through an annual exhibition, and to continuously promote

    its innovative development.

This year's exhibition is particularly focused on the theme of "still life". As a classic genre in painting

art, still life has won wide popularity and high recognition from the public for its unique charm of

being close to life and integrated into daily life. It not only carries profound aesthetic value, but also

deeply reflects the diverse aspects and cultural connotations of society, becoming an important carrier

for artists to express their creative concepts and express their emotions. This exhibition collects

numerous excellent works from across the country through invitations from renowned artists and

nationwide submissions, presenting diverse creative trends: both delicate narratives of daily life and

dreamlike scenes created based on subjective emotions; There are both the reproduction of real life

scenes and the construction of fictional imagery spaces, as well as freehand modeling and abstract

summarization. These works demonstrate the exploratory spirit and innovative vitality of Chinese

freehand oil painting in still life themes.

This exhibition is a continuation and deepening of the academic achievements of "Mood · Story -

The First Chinese Freehand Oil Painting Still Life Special Research Exhibition", and a brave attempt to

explore and construct the subject matter of still life based on Chinese cultural spirit, Eastern patterns,

and expression methods. We hope that through this exhibition, the audience can not only see Chinese

     freehand brushwork

the artists' profound understanding of traditional culture and unique interpretation of modern

aesthetics, thereby inspiring more thinking about art, culture, and life.

Here, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the artists, experts, scholars, and staff who

support the "Cultural Heritage Inheritance - The Second Still Life Special Research Exhibition of

Chinese Freehand Oil Painting" and have worked hard for the project!

Wishing the exhibition a complete success!
