Artist's Bio

Xie Hongzhi

Pen name: Hongzhi. Born in September 1956, Hengnan County, Hunan Province.

Member of the China Calligraphers Association, Member of the China Couplet Association, Special Researcher at the Hunan Provincial Cultural and Historical Research Institute, Honorary Chairman of the Hengyang Calligraphers Association. After retirement, he served as the Director of the Hengyang Municipal Committee for Care of the Next Generation.

He has published works such as Xie Hongzhi's Collection of Poetry and Couplet Calligraphy, Xie Hongzhi's Calligraphy Collection, Extreme Vision, A Glance of the Flying Swan, Journey to the Southern Mountain, and Couplets Celebrating Hengzhou. He edited the historical and cultural series Beautiful Hengyang (four volumes) and Culture of Hengyang Academies. He has lectured at the Shigu Academy Grand Lecture Hall, Guilin People's Culture Grand Lecture Hall, etc., and served as a guest professor at multiple domestic universities. His calligraphy works have been collected by many professional institutions both domestically and internationally.
