  • The Graphic Design Exhibition in China is a national professional design competition initiated and organized by several renowned graphic designers in Shenzhen. The event was first created in 1992 and has caused strong reactions both domestically and internationally. Afterwards, they initiated the establishment of the first graphic design association in China - Shenzhen Graphic Design Association, and held the second "Graphic Design in China Exhibition" in 1996. In 2003, with the support of the Propaganda Department of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Bureau of Culture, the Guan Shanyue Art Museum integrated the city's design resources and successfully held the "Shenzhen Design 03 Exhibition", making Shenzhen once again the focus of attention in the national design industry. Taking this as an opportunity, the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government proposed the strategic concept of building a "design city". After the 03 exhibition, the Shenzhen Graphic Design Association was re established and joined forces with the Guan Shanyue Art Museum to establish "Graphic Design in China Exhibition" as the China Graphic Design Biennale, starting from "Shenzhen - Graphic Design in China 05 Exhibition". With the care of relevant government departments, strong support from Shenzhen Propaganda and Cultural Fund, and active promotion from various media, "Graphic Design in China Exhibition" has become a high-level, multi category, authoritative, fair, and widely influential design event in the domestic graphic design industry, and has also won more international reputation for Chinese graphic design. Today, many outstanding designers in China have emerged here and received attention from professional fields. This activity has become a platform for designers to take off and a cradle for the emergence of a new generation of excellent designers. The "Graphic Design in China" exhibition constantly puts forward new design ideas, but also constantly leads the pace of Chinese graphic design progress.
