Exhibition Name: "2015 Shenzhen Calligraphy and Seal Engraving Annual Exhibition"

Exhibition location: Hall A and Hall B on the first floor of Shenzhen Guan Shanyue Art Museum

 The "2015 Shenzhen Calligraphy and Seal Engraving Annual Exhibition", hosted by the Shenzhen Federation of Literary and Art Circles and organized by the Shenzhen Calligraphers Association, was grandly opened at the Guan Shanyue Art Museum in Shenzhen at 3:30 pm on November 24, 2015.     

This exhibition has received widespread attention, support, and response from the Shenzhen book industry and various sectors of society. A total of more than 400 submissions were received, and after expert preliminary evaluation, re evaluation, and final evaluation, 103 excellent works were selected. In addition to works by members of the Presidium of the Listed Book Association and invited authors, a total of 120 works were exhibited. In order to encourage creativity and promote new talents, in addition to the exhibited works, this year's annual exhibition also added 26 selected works. Due to limited exhibition space, these works were not exhibited, but have been included in the portfolio. The excellent works and selected works presented in this exhibition are all in five different styles, ranging from simple and elegant, to elegant and exquisite, to simple and sincere, and to luxurious and free spirited. They highlight the unique characteristics of Shenzhen calligraphy, which is inclusive of all rivers, has multiple genes, and pursues individuality. They reflect the overall artistic style and basic aesthetic trends of calligraphy creation, as well as the spiritual style of Shenzhen calligraphers and their strong awareness of continuous exploration and innovation. They also radiate the artistic vitality of the special zone's entry into ancient times, emergence of new and keeping up with the times.   This exhibition will end on November 29th. To coincide with this exhibition, the exhibition portfolio will be released simultaneously.     

 With the footsteps of the reform and opening up of the Special Economic Zone, Shenzhen calligraphy has gone through a development process of more than 30 years. Now, calligraphy has gained a deep reputation and achieved remarkable results, which has impressed the industry. The holding of this exhibition will further promote the prosperity and development of calligraphy and seal carving creation in Shenzhen, establish its image, explore its characteristics, and strive to write down the shining name "Shenzhen" in the history of Chinese calligraphy development.
