 This exhibition is a touring exhibition of the "Xu Qinsong Creation Award" series of activities, showcasing the works of outstanding students who won the Xu Qinsong Creation Award among the eight major universities in the province in 2015. Since last year, the Xu Qinsong Creation Award has been established simultaneously in eight universities in Guangdong Province (Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, South China Normal University, Guangzhou University, Jinan University, South China Agricultural University, Shenzhen University, Shantou University, and Zhaoqing College). I hope to use this opportunity to inspire students to work hard in creating and contribute to the cultivation of more excellent young painters in Guangdong.

Looking back at the Xu Qinsong Creation Award activities, exhibitions, lectures, and evaluations that have been ongoing since last year, I often go to and from university, watching many young students walking in the art academy, looking at the studio, artwork, and easel, which often reminds me of my college years and fills me with emotions. I remember when I was 24 years old and studying at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Mr. Li Xiongcai was just in his prime and gave us a landscape class. At that time, I thought he was an old gentleman. Unconsciously, I have reached that age. When I step into campus again, I'm afraid you should also see me like this, right?

The year of Sushi Jin is fleeting, and here I don't want to lament too much about the hardships of life. For this "creation award", I think what I do more is to continue a tradition. This tradition is related to my personal growth experience - as I recall my early academic and work experiences, I find that my artistic journey has always been associated with a series of respected names such as Mr. Huang Xinbo, Mr. Guan Shanyue, Mr. Li Xiongcai, and Mr. Wu Nansheng. They made me understand that no matter how complex and utilitarian reality may be, and no matter how difficult and difficult life may be in the future, we should maintain a belief in art and life: persistence, enthusiasm, optimism, integrity, and personality. Thanks to their support and encouragement for younger generations, I am still passionate and steadfastly engaged in the lonely and enjoyable work of art.

I suddenly remembered the gift Mr. Hu Shi gave to the graduates when he was the president of Peking University. I still feel that I have benefited a lot from it. Now, I will pass it on to you as the end of this article, to encourage you all.

"Take advantage of your current age and strength to strive for a specialized field of study. Youth will never return, and when your energy is depleted, it will be too late to pursue knowledge. Even for the sake of food, knowledge will never disappoint others. Eating without seeking knowledge will result in you being eliminated by underperforming youth in three or five years. It may be too late to pursue more knowledge to make up for it."
