 2014 was a year of fruitful achievements in Shenzhen's art creation. With the care and support of the Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department and the Municipal Federation of Literary and Art Circles, as well as the organization and promotion of the Municipal Artists Association and the Municipal Painting Academy, Shenzhen painters achieved remarkable results in important exhibitions such as the 12th National Art Exhibition, the 3rd National (Dafen) Young and Middle aged Oil Painting Exhibition, and the 12th Guangdong Provincial Art Festival - Excellent Art Exhibition. Both the artistic quality and quantity of the exhibited works exceeded the past, ranking among the top in Guangdong Province, winning honors for Shenzhen and making contributions to a culturally strong city.

 The 10th Creative December: "Shenzhen Painters Painting Shenzhen" is one of the key activities of Creative December, an original brand event with the aim of "paying attention to and praising the local area". It has been held for nine consecutive times and has achieved good social benefits. The aim is to sort out and summarize the latest emerging boutique creations in this year's activities, increase support for new artists and works in Shenzhen, and encourage artists from all over the city to root themselves in grassroots and down-to-earth creative work. This has played a positive role in promoting the development of the city's cultural and artistic industry and the cultivation of local art talents.

The theme of this exhibition is "The 10th Shenzhen Painters Painting Shenzhen - Chinese Dream · Shenzhen Dream". The main content is to reflect the natural landscape and humanistic spirit of the special zone, using various forms such as Chinese painting, oil painting, printmaking, watercolor, etc., reflecting the characteristics of the times, humanistic care, and aesthetic orientation. It expresses the passionate emotions of the painters who love their country, family, and special zone. Through practical actions, it implements the spirit of President Xi Jinping's speech at the literary and artistic work symposium, and promotes local art creation with the concept of "Shenzhen Painters Painting Shenzhen".

More than 600 submissions were received for this exhibition, and after strict evaluation and selection by the Presidium of the Artists Association, more than 170 works were compiled into a book. In addition to the works publicly solicited throughout the city, some of the works showcasing Shenzhen themes and content from the three important exhibitions were specially invited to participate in the exhibition, and the exhibition was reported to the general public during the "Creative December" period in Shenzhen.

As a permanent project funded by the Shenzhen Special Fund for Propaganda and Cultural Development, the Shenzhen Artists Association will further organize and plan activities, expand the publicity and promotion of exhibition activities, and make this brand project more resounding and academically influential. Through excellent art works, it will promote the Chinese spirit and gather the strength of China, provide a continuous source of strong spiritual power for realizing the great "Chinese Dream", promote the rapid development of a socialist harmonious society, and build a beautiful, prosperous, and harmonious new Shenzhen.
