 The 2014 Shenzhen Calligraphy and Seal Engraving Annual Exhibition is hosted by the Shenzhen Federation of Literary and Art Circles and organized by the Shenzhen Calligraphers Association. Through extensive solicitation of manuscripts from calligraphers and enthusiasts throughout the city, the jury has received positive responses. Through strict preliminary and re evaluation, 113 exhibited works were selected, along with works by members of the Shenzhen Calligraphers Association's Presidium and invited authors. A total of 136 works were exhibited, with all five styles, diverse styles, solid skills, and distinct personalities. This represents the overall level and appearance of calligraphy and seal carving creation in Shenzhen at present. After careful preparation, it will open on December 15, 2014 at the Guanshan Yue Art Museum in Shenzhen, with an exhibition period until December 21. In order to cooperate with this exhibition, Haitian Publishing House has published an exquisite collection of works, which includes all exhibited works and is distributed simultaneously. The concentrated display of these works once again confirms the excellent artistic atmosphere of Shenzhen's calligraphy industry, which is inclusive, colorful, and full of vitality. It also provides an opportunity for Shenzhen citizens and calligraphy enthusiasts to observe and appreciate.

The holding of the exhibition reflects the Shenzhen Calligraphers Association's localization, keeping pace with the times, and keenly grasping the development opportunities given by the times. On the basis of the successful holding of the first annual exhibition of calligraphy and seal carving in 2013, it has been initially developed into a permanent calligraphy and seal carving exhibition in the city at the traditional level. It provides an annual summary of the city's calligraphy and seal carving, promotes high-quality creation, discovers and cultivates new talents, and prospers the art garden. By showcasing excellent achievements, promoting the prosperity and development of calligraphy and seal carving creation in Shenzhen, establishing an image, exploring characteristics, and laying a solid foundation for the establishment of the Shenzhen School to advance nationwide.
