This year marks the 70th anniversary of Mao Zedong's speech at the Yan'an Forum on Literature and Art. In order to promote the great development and prosperity of socialist culture and welcome the successful convening of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with practical actions, we hold the Shenzhen Fine Arts Exhibition to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Mao Zedong's speech at the Yan'an Literature and Art Symposium.

　　In May 1942, Comrade Mao Zedong delivered a speech at the Yan'an Forum on Literature and Art, pointing out the direction of the development of Chinese literature and art. For over 30 years, under the guidance of the spirit of the speech at the Yan'an Forum on Literature and Art, artists in Shenzhen have created masterpieces full of vitality and the spirit of the times, using life as the source and creating for the people. Today, we revisit the spirit of the speech in order to further promote art creation, strengthen the awareness of excellence, and adhere to the principles of morality and professionalism.

　　This exhibition reflects the new appearance of art creation in the 30 years since the establishment of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. The work is themed around showcasing the achievements of Shenzhen's construction, and in the form of art, it reproduces the urban construction and humanistic spirit of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone since its establishment 32 years ago. After more than half a year of organization and mobilization, this exhibition has collected more than 400 artworks created by local artists in recent years. After careful selection, more than 200 excellent works have been selected, presenting a joyful situation of "a hundred flowers blooming and a hundred schools of thought competing" in our city's art creation; Praising the creative practice and artistic achievements of reform and opening up, promoting scientific development, exploring the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and Chinese culture; This reflects the active exploration and innovation of art workers in our city, adhering to the direction of "literature and art serving the people and socialism" and a good spiritual style, while also greatly enriching the spiritual and cultural life of Shenzhen citizens.

　　This exhibition will be one of the most important activities in Shenzhen to solemnly commemorate the 70th anniversary of Mao Zedong's speech at the Yan'an Forum on Literature and Art. It will further stimulate the creative enthusiasm of literary and artistic workers to create a passionate and prosperous era. We believe that the vast number of art workers in Shenzhen will continue to boldly practice and explore, create more fine arts, and make new and greater contributions to the prosperity and development of Shenzhen's cultural and artistic industry!
