  • The photography annual exhibition "Wucheng Wuxiang" has been held until today, and suddenly looking back, it is already the sixth edition. Looking back at the time of its establishment, we felt that if we could persist in holding it for five years, it would be a victory. Now, after five years, it has exceeded our initial expectations.

The annual exhibition presented today also showcases the strength and quality accumulated through six consecutive years of perseverance. We can see that this year's exhibition has a larger lineup of authors, a more extensive and profound content of works, richer forms of works, and a more diverse language of photography.

In terms of lineup, more than 30 photographers were selected for this year's annual exhibition, with a mix of old, middle-aged, and young people, showing not only the recognition and participation of photographers in this exhibition, but also the thriving and competitive ecology of Shenzhen's photography talents.

In terms of content, there are a total of 20 works, including personalized records and descriptions of Shenzhen's "Universiade Year", such as "Universiade Village", "TV Universiade", "Color Talks", etc; Having a keen observation of new developments in urban construction, such as "jingji 100", "Shenzhen North Station", "City Makeup", etc; There is a capture and reflection of modern urban lifestyle fashion, popular colors, and youthful charm, such as "City Walk", "Dynamic Everywhere", "Fusion", "Here"; There are inquiries and concerns about the lower class society and the lower class population, such as "My Neighbors" and "The Old House Crowd"; Having thoughts and narratives about life, time, and art, such as "Touching", "Confusion", "Searching for Time", "Overlapping Time", "Following the Shadow"; What is even more valuable is the exploration and collection of the legacy of Shenzhen's local traditional culture and the continuation of ancient customs, such as "Memorial Methods" and "Zhang's Sacrifice Ceremony in Huangbeiling Village". These works, with their diverse themes, levels, and perspectives, create a colorful and profound exhibition that also reconstructs our impression of the city of Shenzhen.

This exhibition also made us strongly feel the dedicated exploration of photography forms and language by Shenzhen photographers. Art exploration is certainly a personal act of artists, but when we witness many photographers working together to innovate in the form of graphic language, we should have a premonition that an era of photography's advancement has arrived. "Gou Ri Xin, Ri Ri Xin, You Ri Xin" is not only motivation, but also the fate of all art. New language and changing forms are the prerequisites for artists to establish their personal style, and they are also the essential demands of art. This exhibition reflects the conscious pursuit of innovation and change in artistic language among many photographers.

This is truly the new annual exhibition held by "Wucheng Wuxiang" after five years of persistence. This sixth annual exhibition should be a new starting point. New starting point, new atmosphere, new altitude, set off again!
