Aesthetic education is an important component of the comprehensive development of students and an important means of implementing the fundamental task of cultivating morality and talent. Allowing every special child to fully enjoy the opportunity to receive high-quality aesthetic education is a reflection of Shenzhen's educational development and civilized harmony as a leading demonstration zone.

Since its establishment, Shenzhen Yuanping Special Education School has always attached great importance to the aesthetic education of special students, adhered to the educational philosophy of "people-oriented, nurturing disabled talents", conscientiously implemented the second phase of the national and provincial special education improvement plan (2018-2020), accelerated the development of school art education, and provided good guarantee conditions for special students to receive high-quality art education.

The "Art Education Exploration" series of exhibitions and educational activities is a public welfare activity jointly launched by Shenzhen Guan Shanyue Art Museum and Shenzhen Yuanping Special Education School, focusing on the healthy growth and art education of special children. It includes art healing courses, public education activities, and achievement reporting exhibitions. The art education work in special schools introduces professional support from art museums, providing comprehensive and multi-dimensional care from children's physiology, psychology, senses, and thinking, and ultimately implementing it in a series of tangible artistic activities.

Exploring the social and cultural boundaries that art can reach through education for special needs children, and constructing a complete and healthy inner world for special needs children through artistic healing. We have chosen the theme of the 2020 exhibition as "Art Puzzle: Returning the Complete World to Them". For special needs children, congenital physiological defects undermine the integrity of their perception of the world, just like a perfect puzzle, missing a piece always makes people feel pity when looking at it. Art, through sensory stimulation, process experience, skill training and other content, finds the missing piece and returns a complete world to them. When they feel the completeness of this world, they can boldly, seriously, and confidently say loudly, "This is me!"

This series of activities is not the first cooperation between Guan Shanyue Art Museum and Shenzhen Yuanping Special Education School, but a more in-depth and systematic upgrade of the cooperation in special student art education activities between the two sides over the years. I believe that with the joint efforts of both parties, the art education for special children in Shenzhen and the public cultural services of the art museum will play a better social role, making due contributions to the urban cultural construction of Shenzhen as a core city in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area and a leading demonstration area of socialism with Chinese characteristics!
