On the afternoon of March 29th (Saturday), our museum held the first session of the "Beauty Reading Mirror" 2025 event. Mr. Guo Weiqi, Vice Dean of the School of Humanities and Arts at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, gave a lecture on the theme of "My History: Searching for an 'Amateur' Figure Painting".

*The "Mirror of Beautiful Reading" series of academic lectures have been well received by the general public and have attracted enthusiastic registrations. In order to commemorate everyone, a special "Beauty Reading Mirror Lecture Admission Ticket" has been created for this lecture.

Speaker Guo Weiqi

Professor at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, currently Vice Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities, Head of the Department of Art History, Visiting Scholar at the University of Chicago from 2013 to 2014, Academic Director and Executive Director of the OCAT Research Center from 2016 to 2022. Representative monographs include "Stopping Clouds and Modeling: A Hypothesis on Wen Huiming and the Style Norms of the 16th Century Wumen" (China Academy of Art Press, 2012) and "The Chance of Form: On the Lion and Tiger Images of China in the Early 20th Century" (Lingnan Fine Arts Press, 2023). Representative translated works include "The Shape of Time: A Brief Discussion on the History of Creation" (The Commercial Press, 2019) and "The Limits of Self: Chinese Portraits from 1600-1900" (Peking University Press, 2017). He co edited various academic series such as "World 3" and is currently promoting art history writing on ocean memory spaces.

How to get a ticket

*The appointment for this lecture is subject to real name registration. Registered audience members who have arrived at the Guanshan Yue Art Museum can collect their tickets on the first floor of the exhibition hall. The audience shows a valid activity reservation code ("Shenzhen Guanshanyue Art Museum" WeChat official account activity reservation), signs in on the spot, and the staff issues "admission tickets".

Access route

*Due to the large number of lecture attendees, our museum has temporarily opened a convenient passage:

Ticket holders can take the exhibition hall elevator or stairs to the second floor, and then proceed to the entrance of the lecture hall via the circular square on the second floor.

(Please enter the venue in an orderly manner under the guidance of the staff, and do not linger or play in the circular square.)

Ticket checking and entry

*The audience who have already collected their tickets will enter the venue at the entrance of the second floor auditorium after being checked (punched) by the staff. No admission without a ticket.

Admission time

*The official start time of the lecture is 3:00 pm. To ensure the smooth progress of the lecture, please come to the exhibition hall on the first floor before 2:30 pm to sign in and collect tickets, obey management, enter in an orderly manner, and listen quietly. Viewers who are more than 30 minutes late are not allowed to attend.

Is it possible to cancel the appointment

*Viewers who have successfully made reservations and wish to change their itinerary are requested to cancel their online reservations before 3:00 pm on March 28, 2025 (Friday) and transfer their spots to those in need. If an audience member is absent from this lecture for a total of 2 times without cancellation, they will not be able to book the "Beauty Reading Mirror" series of lecture activities for the next 12 months.

*Those who have not successfully made an appointment or those who have cancelled their appointment will not be able to attend this lecture. Individuals who have already made reservations are not allowed to give their spots to others without authorization. Once confirmed, they will not be able to book the "Beauty Reading Mirror" series of lecture activities for the next 12 months.

Tips

*Please do not eat or drink in the lecture hall, and there will be no intermission during the lecture. Visitors who enter or exit temporarily should try not to disturb others.

*During the lecture, our library and literature library will be open as usual.

*Our museum advocates green travel and suggests that the audience attending the lecture take public transportation or subway. On Saturdays and Sundays, there is a lot of traffic and congestion near Lianhua Mountain on Hongli Road
