The lecture focuses on the new trends of artist Dong Shubing in public sculpture practice in recent years. In the context of advocating for ecological civilization, the "Wilderness Art Plan" that began in 2016 can be seen as an opportunity. Implementing public sculpture creation in fields such as deserts and wilderness that have been marginalized by contemporary art and public sculpture, introducing 3D digital technology into works, seeking more independent and open creative models, and considering sustainable artistic creation methods while respecting ecology and environment. Artists have put forward higher requirements for public sculpture creation in terms of space, technology, methods, thinking, and other elements.

His works have participated in more than 80 important academic exhibitions at home and abroad, held eight solo exhibitions, published five monographs, and published more than ten papers. The work has been collected multiple times by international and domestic public and private institutions or individuals. He emphasizes the combination of theory and practice, advocating that regardless of the research on any art category, attention must be paid to the analysis and reflection of the spatiotemporal relationship in the process of artistic evolution. Regarding creative practice, it is advocated to explore the relationship between art, environment, and people. Actively advocating the connection between sculpture works and the times in terms of content, theme, form, and media, and conducting profound aesthetic reflection and theoretical summary on current art creation.
The series of works under this art program is not only an expansion from shelving to public space, but also a breakthrough in the volume of works and a challenge to space. Fundamentally, it is a transformation of creative concepts and implementation methods, a fulfillment of the artist's responsibility, and an exploration of the achievable path of public sculpture. Exploring the ways in which humans and nature coexist harmoniously, and considering sustainable artistic creation methods while respecting ecology and environment, highlights contemporary artists' international perspective, humanistic care, ecological awareness, and good wishes for a green ecological home beyond art and aesthetics.
