Her main research interests include visual anthropology, South China studies, and socially participatory art practices. As a cross disciplinary artist and researcher, her research projects and works mostly focus on the history and reality of obscured communities. She collaborates with volunteer organizations, educational institutions, museums, and public organizations to continuously conduct research, dissemination, and cultural reconstruction of the South China region through methods such as research, writing, and local exhibitions. In recent years, the focus of work has shifted to exploring new art museum practices and curation research from the perspectives of anthropology, cultural history, and participatory development.
This lecture will take the curation work of the Pan Southeast Asian Triennial Exhibition held by the Art Museum of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts during the epidemic as an example, sharing how to carry out international cooperation through network technology under uncertain conditions of international transportation obstruction, including how to use online tools to hold curation meetings, connect exhibitions, opening speeches, and post event lectures and workshop collaborations with curators and artists abroad.
At the same time, it also shares how to use real collection technology to create a digital exhibition hall, reproduce and record the overall appearance of the exhibition as much as possible, so that viewers who did not come to the exhibition site can have a visual and appreciation experience as close as possible. It also serves as an important overall document, along with text, pictures, images, media reports and other materials, becoming an important full record archive, and is disseminated through the art museum website for long-term dissemination.
