Wang Zhigang is a well-known new media artist, curator, and multimedia visual director. The main research directions are digital experience design for cultural and artistic fields, new media art experience design for Chinese cultural heritage, and spatial narrative methods for new media art. Proficient in utilizing technology and art to create new perceptions. His works are known for their strong artistic atmosphere and rich expressive power, spanning multiple fields such as multimedia design for theatrical stages and large-scale performance events, exhibition and display design, large-scale architectural projection, public landscape art lighting design, and virtual reality experience. In addition, Wang Zhigang successfully completed his task as the video director for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing Winter Paralympics in 2022.
The speaker will analyze the interactive relationship between art, technology, and society from four aspects: information, media, narrative, and experience, and explore the contemporary significance and value of digital art in cultural experience innovation through case studies of design practice and artistic creation, such as the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2022 Winter Paralympic Games, the large-scale cultural program "Poetry and Painting China" on CCTV, and the China Science Fiction Conference based on the Shougang Industrial Relics Space.
