Guest speaker: Willa Guest introduction: Social designers with a background in industrial design and idealists in reality. Former product designers, user researchers, interaction designers, rural volunteers... now cross-border entrepreneurs. I want to figure out what value designers can have for society and embark on the path of social design. Establish Far and Near Folk Art Society to explore sustainable development and cultural diversity conservation in urban and rural society from the perspectives of sociology, anthropology, and design.
1. Theme
Theme: What can designers do when going to the countryside to avoid causing trouble
Theme interpretation: Designers going to the countryside has become a fashionable "movement", driven by the helplessness of shrinking opportunities in the field of urban design, the drive for designers to seek self-worth, the eagerness to benchmark new innovations, and the social ideal of serving the world and the people..... However, in any case, design is not an art that starts from oneself, but rather a "selfless" exploration and solution to real problems. In the face of complex social problems in rural communities, how designers can not only solve problems, but also achieve self-worth and idealism...... I have also explored this process and have made many attempts with the team over the years. I hope to share this opportunity with everyone to discuss or practice together.
