The China France Art Exchange Exhibition, which was reluctant to part ways, came to an end today. Over the course of a month, as the exhibition progresses and the tour guide continues, our understanding of the works and artists also increases, and our experiences become more diverse. Until today, the exhibition is coming to an end, and our understanding of the work is constantly deepening, even without stopping for a moment. It's like a friend who has been together for a month, just started a relationship and is about to break up. At this moment, my heart is particularly reluctant.
Within a month, artists and their works, with their profound artistic foundation and rich humanistic emotions, conveyed to us the artistic charm of truth, goodness, and beauty, giving us the influence and baptism of civilization. In the fast-paced contemporary society, it is particularly valuable.
In order to provide excellent guidance services for cultural volunteers in the future, the summary of this service is as follows:
1、 The exhibition is rich in content and informative. This art exhibition showcases artists and works from different styles, schools, cultures, countries, and periods, and has been warmly welcomed by the audience. Volunteers have also gained a lot, and it is recommended to hold similar "Sino foreign cultural exchange art exhibitions" in the future.
2、 Regarding audience segmentation. Just like marketing theory, our audience is divided into different types. The audience this time is very large, and it may be the largest exhibition in six months. There are both professional and non professional. And most of them are non professionals, which puts forward requirements for our guidance - to treat different audiences differently, teach according to their aptitude, and vary from person to person.
1. Guidance for children. This time, we have made new attempts and gained new experiences. Director Cheng Ping's method is very good - first determine the theme, then "sit on the ground" to look at the painting - not only are the children satisfied, the school teachers satisfied, the parents satisfied, and it is estimated that the closure is also satisfied - "sit down" is the best way to make children quiet and maintain order. I found that later training institutions also adopted this method for young children.
2. Treat the majority of non professional audiences. This is the most popular and important subject of "general education" for visitors to the museum. The main focus is on how to appreciate works, combining professional techniques with emotional expression and aesthetic enjoyment. As for the story behind the work, it is not advisable to tell too much, and it may even be omitted. But when guiding, one should mobilize their own experiences and guide the audience to enhance their interest, in order to understand the author's creative ideas and context.
For example, it is not advisable to delve too deeply into the techniques, but only focus on the characteristics, such as the comparison between Yan Ping's swordsmanship and Guo Runwen's swordsmanship. When discussing the beauty and emotional expression of a work, it is particularly important to mobilize knowledge from all aspects, including music, history, literature, and so on.
3. For professional audiences. We play a more guiding and accompanying role in appreciating together. In the process of appreciating together, we interact with professional audiences with a learning attitude. We are good at listening to and collecting their opinions and opinions, and engage in discussions with volunteers to further improve our appreciation level and better serve the audience.
3、 Areas that still need improvement
1. In terms of theme, if the theme of the entire art exhibition can be more prominent, and attention should be paid to the depth of thinking and mastery of techniques when selecting, it may be more attractive to viewers.
2. In terms of introducing the labels of artists and artworks, if the labels of the works and artists can be made larger, it will be clear at a glance, and the effect will be better.
3. In terms of lighting effects, if attention is paid to the lighting effect during exhibition layout, it will reduce errors in lighting application, weaken the aesthetic enjoyment of viewers during the viewing process, and even create negative visual illusions.
4. In terms of information supply, if the curator can provide sufficient information on foreign artists and their works, volunteer students will not spend a lot of time and energy on collecting a lot of information. They can spend more time and energy on how to get to know the artists and their works, in order to improve the level of guidance.
5. In terms of training cultural volunteers, if we can increase the training of volunteers before the exhibition, provide sufficient background information, and practice appropriately according to the requirements of a complete set of guides, reduce the gap in the level of cultural volunteers, and fully trust the abilities of volunteers to let them play, then art guides will serve different audiences without departing from the purpose and with their own characteristics, making the entire exhibition more lively and exciting.
6. In terms of promoting the art exhibition, especially in the early stage, there is still room for improvement. In the later stages of the exhibition, there were significantly more visitors than in the early stages, resulting in a bustling exhibition hall and affecting the audience's appreciation of the work. If we can fully strengthen promotion and publicity before the exhibition, increase the number of early stage visitors, not only avoid the "cold scene" in the early stage, but also reduce the "explosion" in the later stage, so that the number of visitors to the museum tends to be balanced.
7. In maintaining order in the venue, we should strive to create a good and orderly viewing environment for the general audience. We need to take into account both the appreciation needs of the majority of the audience for art works and the needs of group visits. "Group visit appointment" is a good method to prepare the museum and avoid uneven heating and cooling. But this measure is limited to groups that require guidance, and there is no "reservation" requirement for groups that bring their own guidance. Although art exhibitions are public welfare projects, for large-scale and concentrated visits by institutional groups, it is still necessary to require them to make "reservations" as much as possible, or at least require them to "inform" in advance, in order to avoid sudden crowds of visitors causing the entire art exhibition to be disorderly. They may not follow the normal viewing route due to teaching or research needs, or intersperse with each other in the crowd, or explain loudly, which not only affects the appreciation of other audiences, but also is not conducive to maintaining order and is prone to accidents.
