On April 2, 2026, the symposium "City as an Art Laboratory" and the launch of the "Shenzhen·Urban Art & Social Lab" project commenced at the Guanshanyue Art Museum in Shenzhen.

The "Shenzhen City Art Lab" was jointly initiated by the Guanshanyue Art Museum in Shenzhen and the College of Transmedia Art at the China Academy of Art. The lab aims to take root in Shenzhen, anchoring itself in the intersection of "future cities × art—research—science fiction" as a starting point, to develop "urban art" rooted in Shenzhen's unique characteristics.

This initiative involves a three-day collective visit by 20 guests to Shenzhen's local research bases, high-tech enterprises, and academic institutions, followed by in-depth research and exchanges. Subsequently, an international symposium is organized under the theme "City as Art Laboratory," featuring three key Topic Section: "Shenzhen Interface: Pioneering Sites and Prospects," "Science Fiction × Research: Engineering the Future," and "Experimental Proposals: On-site Observations, Motivations, and Future Exploration."
