The Guan Shanyue Art Museum is a national public welfare cultural institution named after Mr. Guan Shanyue Art Museum, a famous Chinese painter, educator, and master of the Lingnan School of Painting. It is fully funded by the government and is dedicated to collecting and researching Guan Shanyue Art Museum and its location. The foundation was laid in January 1995 and in June of that year

Mr. Guan Shanyue was very concerned about the art industry in Shenzhen before his death. He built the Guan Shanyue Art Museum with 67 million yuan to permanently collect his works for the world to study and appreciate. 8000 square meters, with a construction area of 3600 square meters and an outdoor exhibition area of 500 meters. There is one circular central exhibition hall on the activity exhibition line and two permanent exhibition halls for Guan Shanyue Art Museum Art. At present, the art museum has a collection of 20 years of operation. Our museum has become an important art exchange platform at home and abroad, as well as a planning and hosting organization for national large-scale art exhibition projects. We have explored a modern art museum development path based on the collection and adapted to the cultural development of Shenzhen city.

Centered around academic positioning, we aim to build exhibition brands and build a comprehensive and efficient public cultural service system through attentive audience centered services, enabling citizens to realize their cultural and artistic rights in a high-quality cultural and leisure atmosphere.

Since its establishment, the Shenzhen Guanshanyue Art Museum has established a development strategy of "research as the leader, collection as the foundation, display, education, and promotion as means, to meet the growing spiritual and cultural needs of the people, and to build a complete and efficient public cultural service system as the goal.".

Organizational structure and departmental functions

The Shenzhen Guan Shanyue Art Museum is a fully funded public welfare institution approved by the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, under the jurisdiction of the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports. The Shenzhen Guanshanyue Art Museum focuses on showcasing, collecting, researching, and promoting Guanshanyue art works, while also serving various functions of the National Art Museum. It carries out the display, collection, research, promotion, exchange, and training of other excellent art works. We have gradually established an academic direction led by "Guan Shanyue  Art, Chinese Art Research in the Middle and Late 20th Century, and Contemporary Design Art Research", and a museum management philosophy aimed at "research as the leader, collection as the foundation, display, education, and promotion as means, and building a complete public cultural service system".

The Shenzhen Guan Shanyue  Art Museum implements a director responsibility system. The library leadership has one director, two deputy directors, one assistant director, one assistant deputy director, and one chief editor. The director shall exercise unified leadership over the management and daily operations of the entire library, while other library leaders shall be responsible for the management of their respective businesses and shall be accountable to the director. The specific division of labor shall be based on the resolution of the director's office meeting. The museum has four departments: the Comprehensive Department, the Exhibition and Education Department, the Academic Collection Department, and the Digital Development Department.
